Bó Drake Identity

Bó Drake

An identity for an East Asian BBQ revolving around smoke

Bó Drake is a new East Asian BBQ launched in the heart of London's Soho on Greek Street. Bó Drake's food is modern and bright, combining sweet and pickled influences from South-East Asia alongside slow-cooked BBQ dishes from both Asia and the Americas. The brief was to create a simple and confident identity for Bó Drake that would sit quietly in the space and evocatively in the restaurant's communications.

Bó Drake's identity is driven by the same ingredient that defines the kitchen's food; Smoke is used to awaken the senses visually and materially. Taking inspiration from the spirit of street-scenes found across Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing, Smoke is charged with frenetic and colourful city lights. Beyond imagery smoke rises out of the way for a simple pared down approach that lets the food do the talking.
